Membership in VICE affords adults access to an unorthodox, yet, Biblically correct discussion of human sexual expression and morality. Although anyone can study this information alone, intelligent discussions of what you read can be cathartic for any group of teenagers or young adults. Therefore, we encourage Christian and non-Christian college students, parents, teachers, coaches, prison guards, probation officers, policemen, priests, etc., to process these sexually explicit parables and then intelligently apply them as often as you can!
Human sexuality is not necessarily a topic inveterately associated with ministry. Yet, to deny that America’s Youths now have access to countless sexually explicit images would be hypocritical, to say the least. Often, these images excite the libido at the expense of the enlightenment necessary for prudent decisions. Ergo, VICE offers this course in sex education wherein members can examine both the virtue and the vice of sexual behavior. Rest assured, VICE is not associated with any pastor or any church seeking more members. Instead, we pray that the “Church” dwelleth in you as you help adolescents to reach adulthood unscathed by sexual molestation or sexual mistakes.
Akin to Junior’s family tree, within your own family unfathomable shame often is masked via fatherhood, promiscuity, anger, depression, silence, drugs, alcohol, domestic violence, or over-achievement, etc. Brothers, in this Age of Feminism, the laws of the land are supplanting GOD’s Laws. Ergo, insecurities about our self-concept of manhood and masculinity often lead to denial, irresponsibility, violence, and other pathologies in dealing with the opposite sex as well as with one another. Thus, VICE focuses upon enlightening teenagers and grown men without condescending judgment of anything you may have done in the past. Instead, our goal is to move forward with the confidence and courage to master your concupiscence.
Written especially for college students, teachers, preachers, teenagers, parents, former foster kids, and even convicted felons, I hope you appreciate the transparency of my “realistic fiction”. Inconsequential to whether you are a Buddhist, a Christian, a Jew, or a Muslim, puberty presents a plethora of challenges that many fathers and spiritual leaders rarely discuss candidly with teenagers. In writing such a book, I knew that I needed to present sexual material in such a way that it did not threaten anyone’s privacy. Thus, members of VICE can analyze what transpired during Junior's fictional odyssey through puberty. The extent to which these vignettes trigger memories, both good and bad, will be an individual endeavor. Therefore, please seek pastoral or professional counseling IF the sex survey or other parts of the textbook cause you any mental or emotional anguish. Hopefully, all of us will redefine "male bonding" via learning how to discuss sexual matters more openly without shame. As an adult survivor of incest and childhood sexual abuse, I think this book is a must read for both Christians and non-Christians alike who are serious about circumventing molestation and mistakes that befall millions of children each year. Gentlemen, as you will discover, VICE is a ministry of sexual healing that confronts this kind of “guy stuff” on line and in our workshops so that we can become better husbands, fathers, friends, and brothers. Our workshops are no substitute for professional or pastoral counseling. Yet, they are available for Christian college students, coaches, cops, correctional officers, convicted felons, fathers and sons, etc., who seek the support of “certified” and self-actualized men.
